 Georgetown Door Grille
 Job:
Exterior
Architectural Commission Date:
November
2003 Site:
Georgetown, Washington DC Overview: The client lives about two blocks from the National Cathedral (a stunning example of gothic architecture) and wanted a front door grille that would look “as though it had come from the cathedral.” The grille was designed and built to achieve that effect – utilizing collaring, square punching, scrolling, etc. While the grille weighs close to 300lbs, it is well-balanced and remarkably easy to open and close.
