Georgetown Door Grille

Job:    Exterior  Architectural Commission

Date:  November  2003

Site:    Georgetown, Washington DC

Overview:  The client lives about two blocks from the National Cathedral (a stunning example of gothic architecture) and wanted a front door grille that would look “as though it had come from the cathedral.” The grille was designed and built to achieve that effect utilizing collaring, square punching, scrolling, etc. While the grille weighs close to 300lbs, it is well-balanced and remarkably easy to open and close.
