Overview: This latch was made at the request of an industrious soul who was constructing his own potting shed. He had harvested an old door with plenty of character, and did not want to handicap it with standard run-of-the-mill store-bought hardware. Now, there is some debate as to whether this is a "Norfolk" latch or a "Suffolk" latch. We really don't know what the folk is correct. The hinges were made to accompany the latch, and are rather simple. They are made from scratch out of 14 gauge sheet steel, and 1/4 inch round stock for the pins. We can construct hardware in many different flavors at Gilgamesh Forge. These are presented as two examples.
