Overview: More mixed-media. Formula -- carved, beaten wood + steel tied in knots = heavy-duty Viking furniture. The coatrack is constructed of 1" thick pine and forged steel, Square-chiseled holes in the timber have been plugged with forged plugs of 1" square steel. The steel has been abrasive-blasted to a matte grey color, and then hot coated with proprietary beeswax/boiled linseed oil mixture to both prevent oxidization and to add depth to the overall finish of the piece. The wood has been light stained, polyurethaned, distressed with a ball pein hammer, sanded, dark stained, and finally waxed, to give it an aged and interesting texture.
